After practicing several years on their own, Nathan Williams and Paul Melo recognized that they had similar outlooks on how a law firm should be run. Building on their shared interest in helping others prepare for and plan for the uncertainties in life, Williams Melo was created. Since 2013, Williams Melo has worked with hundreds of individuals and families to address their pressing legal needs. In the intervening years, Williams Melo has added additional attorneys and has consistently been voted as one of Sierra Vista’s top law firms.
At Williams Melo, we believe that the client’s peace of mind is of paramount importance, and we emphasize providing easy-to-understand legal services in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you need estate planning, assistance with a loved-one’s declining competency, advice regarding real estate matters or help negotiating complex contracts, the attorneys at Williams Melo can provide the guidance you need today, for security and peace of mind tomorrow.
Our experienced and dedicated support staff will make sure that your case gets the attention it deserves every time you call in.
A military brat from birth, I moved around a bit in my early years until we were stationed Fort Huachuca. When my father retired, our family stayed in the Sierra Vista area. I attended elementary and middle school on Ft. Huachuca, and then High School at Buena. After graduating from Buena, I moved to Tucson and attended Pima Community College and the University of Arizona.
During my time in Tucson, I fell in love, got married and finished my undergraduate studies in business management. After college, I worked as a Manager in Training with a wholesale supply company for the construction industry. Following a few years of work experience, I decided to pursue a career as an attorney. Our family had added the sweetest little baby girl and the 3 of us moved to Michigan to attend Thomas M. Cooley school of law.
While working towards a JD, I was selected to participate in a legal clinic under the supervision of a professor, I was able to gain hands on experience working directly with clients. This clinical experience led to a job with a firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. While living in Nevada, our family size increased with the addition of our second darling baby girl.
Having been admitted to the Arizona bar, we then moved back to Arizona where I worked with estate planning attorney, Mr. Michael L. Holdsworth, who continues to practice in this field in Prescott, Arizona. This mentoring gave me a solid foundation and understanding of Estate Planning.
Moving back to Sierra Vista, I started my own firm in January of 2011 and then joined with Nathan Williams in August of 2013. We have been grateful to our clients that support our firm and have allowed us to serve the community.
Since being back in Sierra Vista, our family added a precious third baby girl. All 3 girls have continued to participate in local schools and community activities as they have grown up. Currently, I participate with the Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation, as a means of supporting community while being involved with economic development, a topic I enjoy. I have previously been on boards with the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce (now Sky Islands Regional Partnership), Salvation Army Sierra Vista Corps, and the Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise.
I am grateful to live in beautiful Sierra Vista with a terrific family where we can enjoy great year round weather, especially those evenings to get out and play soccer or watch the stars.

A true Arizona native, Nathan was born and raised in Thatcher, a small farming community located in the Gila Valley of southeastern Arizona. Despite being the fifth of eight children, Nathan developed a sense of individual identity and purpose through church youth programs and scouting, school governance and church missionary service. As the son of a Rotarian and career prosecutor, Nathan experienced first-hand the importance of service to the community and the legal system.
Nathan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, majoring in political science and minoring in psychology. Immediately after graduating, Nathan moved his small family to Missoula, Montana, where he completed his legal training at the University of Montana School of Law. While in law school, Nathan worked as an extern for the United States Attorney’s Office, where he learned research and courtroom skills, including prosecuting federal misdemeanor cases under the supervision of the Assistant U.S. Attorney.
After graduating law school in 2005, Nathan returned home to Arizona and became a member of the Arizona Bar later that year. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District court for the State of Arizona. Nathan’s practice has varied from criminal prosecution to real estate litigation, to probate, wills and trusts. For the past fifteen years, Nathan’s private practice has focused primarily on estate planning, probates, guardianships and conservatorships. Nathan truly enjoys helping others and their families navigate the sometimes complex legal system and plan for the future.
Nathan has been actively involved in community service, belonging to the Sierra Vista Rotary Club, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, serving in his church and Scouting, and supporting many local organizations and causes. Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and tries to maintain an active lifestyle by running, cycling, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
